Isobel Sangha, founder of The Donegal Natural Soap Company, graduated from Queens University Belfast with a BE in Aeronautical Engineering. A lingering desire to work in the medical field led her to undertake an MSc in Bioengineering at Trinity College Dublin. After graduating, Isobel worked in the fascinating fields of medical device R&D and clinical research. It was there that she obtained invaluable experience in design, quality, regulatory and manufacturing that would later help her to set up her natural soap business.

Designed with purpose and with a holistic care for person and environment, Isobel’s products focus on helping people feel comfortable in their own skin; choosing ingredients that are dedicated to this. She is always in and looking to nature for solutions to her family’s health and well-being; happiest when donning her wellingtons to forage for a free hedgerow munch or identify a new wildflower or herb.

Catherine McAuley, in writing the Rules for the Sisters, said that when visiting the sick the Sisters were "to endeavour by every practicable means to promote cleanliness". Tradition tells us that they would take soap to the households they visited, such a practical gift was greatly valued by the recipients.
